QUESTION: We are trying to hook up a brake controller to tow our trailer.  We can't figure out how to open the cover on the brake controller switch.


ANSWER: u dont want to open the brake switch  if u do that all the calibration will be lost and u get to install a new switch   U need to buy the jeep  wire harness for the brake setup like that.
Besides the cover to the brake light switch is a circuit board so I dont know what U would be doing inside that any way.

QUESTION: Would my jeep already be equipped with the wire harness? and if so how do I know this?

first inorder to do what U want u need a hitch and the 7 way harness from jeep  if u have it there would be a black plug in the back by the hitch. The 7 way harness will have the other wires u would need for the trailer brake. I would do your research b4 u start cutting wires and such and cause a big mess that will cost u more in the end.
