Jeep Repair: jeep transmission, cherokee laredo, jeep transmission
QuestionI love Jeeps - learned how to drive on a 1948 passenger Willy in 1970 and have had many jeeps since then. When my daughter started driving we picked up a used 1994 Cherokee Laredo. It's got 126,000 miles on it now after many trips back and forth to college. Generally, it's been in great shape except for some a/c problems which now are fine. Today, however, the transmission slowly died on me - lots of revving with no powered forward movement. I slid the automatic shift into D2 and was able to get a little further and finally in D1 was able to get another 100 feet or so to get to curb side. The wrecker has been summoned. I had noticed the shift lever had a lot of play in Drive and don't know what my trusted mechanic will find. But, if the car needs a new tranny - is it worth the expense ?? I just spent $900 on new tires for the front and some other minor maintenance before my daughter took it on a trip. Also, during the past week we got a washer fluid Sensor fault warning - could that have been a code to indicate a problem with the tranny ?
AnswerI cant tell u what the tranny issue is U have not given me any clue to what has been checked out or anything remember I am not there to look at it myself so I have no idea what shape its in as for the expense that is not my call U dont know your money situation.
