Jeep Repair: 96 Cherokee front control arm bracket, control arm, welder

Nathan, the front pass side lower control arm bracket on my 96 Cherokee, 4 wheel, 4.0, auto broke. Can a new bracket be welded on to the diff and hold up? Repair shop wants 1300 that I don't have right now. I know a decent welder in the area willing to help me out. Thanks in advance. Jim

Jim, I would probably have the welder you know look at it, he would be able to tell you better than I would.  I have replaced a few differentials for the same problem, I would honestly try to find a used differential, you should not have a problem finding one and it should be cheaper than a new one.  Hope I could help you!
