Jeep Repair: Jeep, mud terrain tires, jeep wrangler tj
QuestionI was wondering... i just bought a used 97 jeep wrangler tj and i have noticed that it feels like the car moves a little back and fourth. Is this normal?...It has 33 inch mud terrain tires on it so that might be the problem. Also when i turn the steering wheel to the right it kind of clicks and locks in.
Thanks,
Matt
AnswerHave your front end checked out. Sounds like a track bar is worn out if the body shifts from side to side when steering left and right while parked. The other part that usually wears out is the tie-rod end at the pitman arm. To check the steering correctly you have to lay up under it and have a buddy turn the steering wheel left and right, and look for any movement in the joints. Hope this is helpful!
