No reverse and no indication light at dash or shifter

Answer
The Discovery II does not have electronic control for reverse.  If the truck does not go into reverse, the transmission has failed internally, or the shift linkage has broken.  If drive and park select normally and the shifter feels ok, you have transmission failure.  If the shifter feels funny and the other gears are out or place or nonfunctional, look for a shift cable problem.
