Land Rover Repair: Central locking, water ingress, rear view mirror

Hi, 2001 Disco 2 had car from new. CL drivers door works well all other doors will lock but will not open they make the sound to but don't.Also will not work from switch on dash.Also light above rear view mirror stopped working putnew lamp in but still does not work. Is it linked ? just to say the other 2 lights do work well.Can you give me any help. Thanks Jason.

Hi Jason,

LR electrics can be a mystery sometimes.  Are your electric problems linked?  Perhaps yes, to your Body Control Unit (BCU) which controls the power to these components.  Not sure exactly what is the cause of your electric woes but corrosion is a possibilty.  LR electrics have been known to be tormented by water ingress and corrosion.  Perhaps your BCU connectors need to be cleaned and the connections inspected.

It does sound like a power related problem but you should have an expert inspect this for you.
