Land Rover Repair: 2002 Land Rover Freelander Ticking Noise, land rover freelander, 2002 land rover freelander

Ok so i replaced both heads with reman's. Still got some ticking noise...I thought it was the lifters...Replaced those... Still ticking.... Now i hear the ticking from inside the upper intake manifold. I took it apart and i see a long stem with gears? And it has this number written on it

But i was told by land rover the upper intake manifold is not serviceable and you have to buy the entire thing. $1200 for the damn thing.

Is it possible to find the part somewhere or do you know the name of this part.

You can buy the actuators for the intake manifold but in my experience the manifolds warp, and need to be changed as a whole.  So you may well end up wasting your money if you buy the kits and still have to buy the $1200 assembly.  I'm sorry but that's how it's worked out for me, with a dozen or more of these in the past few years
