i have a 98 range rover. one side of my car heats the other side blows cold air

That is a classic sign of blend motor failure.  There are three blend motors (sold in a matched set) that regulate temps side to side.  They cost about $500 and take 6 hours or so to install, so it's a big job.  Major dash disassembly is required.  If you want to read the procedure you can buy a day's access to Land Rover's factor support website, www.landrovertechinfo.com
