Hi, I recently bought a 98 model LR Disco, its fuel consumption is making me yell. only 3.5 Kms/Ltr. Please advice me to fix this.

That's 8.5 US miles per gallon.  I agree it's a lot, but if the vehicle is run in hot desert, with a heavy air conditioning load, on sand, that may be what you get.  You may be able to effect some improvement with good tuning and maintenance but the short answer is, that's whay people run diesel over there.
