QuestionI saw someone mentioned they had a tech sheet for replacing the plug wires on a 2000 DiscoII. Would you have this? Also some tips on best way to get to the plugs?
AnswerThere is no "tech sheet" about replacing plug wires. Land Rover does have a service support site, www.landrovertechinfo.com where you can buy a day's access and download any factory service info, including this procedure.
You have to remove the top part of the intake - the plenum - and all the associated stuff that's in the way. With that off, you can see the wires and coil packs, and you can change them. It's a half-day job.
Most of the time, when we do it, we change the coils as they tend to sustain damage from electrical stress if a wire fails. Also this is the time to change valve cover gaskets and anything else that leaks in there.
When you add those tasks it often becaomes a full day job.
As to getting tips to the plugs - all I can say is, dexterity and universal joint plug sockets with long extensions. They are plainly visible; just awkward.
Good luck with it
