Land Rover Repair: 2004 Range Rover HSE, vehcile, ecu

i have a proble my range rover was in accident the ECU was damaged i but use ecu i took the car to dealer to progreame it do to the the car is not starting because of the key. Dealer said that i need to buy a new ecu is that true???? or i need help what to doo next thank you

You cannot install a used ECU in that vehicle.  The dealer is correct.  If your ECU was damaged you will need a new one and all the keys to recode the vehcile to run.  Sorry but the used one won;t work.
