Land Rover Repair: Disco II 01; engine wont turn over, crank sensor, click sound

having trouble w/engine completely turning over ... Don't believe it's the starter, alternator or battery as the engine doesnt make a dead "click" sound w/no revving ... the engine will rev & "rrrrr" "rrrrr" it just doesn't complete starting .... sounds as tho it's not getting enough gas; but pressing accl doesn't help either ...

You have to start with checking basics.  Does it have spark?  If so, does it have fuel pressure?  One or both is missing, and your first task is to find out which one.  

No startes in trucks like yours can be caused by fuel pump failure, crank sensor failure, or a host of other issues.
