Land Rover Repair: disco II 2001 4.0l question, land rover discovery, low oil pressure
QuestionMy brother has a 2001 Land Rover Discovery and has had to change the oil several times over the last few months because of coolant getting into the crankcase. Also he has noticed some miner overheating and low oil pressure light coming on during cold starts and last for several minutes until it gets to normal operating temp and idle. I bought a cheapo code reader and it says no prior codes but current problems with intermittent misfiring with #3 and #4 cylinders. What do I do? Thanks Kevin
AnswerIf engine coolant is getting into the oil, then you have a serious problem. In most cases, it means an internal failure in the motor. I suggest you resolve what's going on before the engine fails. And that's the inevitable result of driving with antifreeze in the oil sump. It has nothing to do with fauls on a code reader - this is a more basic, serious failure
