Land Rover Repair: M and S lifhts flashing, obd ii scanner, land rover discovery

I have a 2000 land rover discovery and the M&S lights are flashing. Also were the shift is the D light for drive is flashing as well

Answer
That means there's a fault in the electronic transmission controls.  If yo shut off and restart and the light remains you will need to seek a shop with a T4 or Autologic or IDS system to read the computer and tell you what's going on.  A simple OBD II scanner wont talk to that computer
