Land Rover Repair: flashing lights, neutral safety switch, switch problem

the "sport" mode and "manual" mode light and the "D" light are flashing when I turn the engine on, but when I stopped and put gas in the vehicle the flashing stopped. Have you heard of this?

I presume this is a Discovery II.  Normally the flashing lights are a bad battery.  If this doesn't fix it, it is most likely a rotary switch (neutral safety switch) problem.  There is a Land Rover TSB on this particular problem.  You can buy it from Alldata or Mitchell.
