Land Rover Repair: computer code, land rover discovery, oxygen sensor

hi, I have a 98 land rover discovery[1]
with a code reading of 1193,could you tell
me what this means and what one should do
to fix it..............thanks....marc

This code means the heater element within the downstream oxygen sensor is burnt out and is open circuit.  The oxygen sensor has 2 wires for the heater circuit and two wires for the sensor unit.  You can do a comparison check against the other 3 sensors on the vehicle, but you most likely need to change one of the downstream sensors.
