Land Rover Repair: Disco 1 spark plugs, copper electrode, oxygen sensors

Question
Can bosch double platinum plugs (no gap required) cause
misfires or 02 sensors to go bad in a 96 disco?

Answer
Any spark plug can misfire.  Platinum plugs have a smaller flame front than copper electrode plugs, but there is no correlation between a misfire and oxygen sensor failure.  On this year and model, the oxygen sensors are not very reliable and do fail frequently.
