Land Rover Repair: Chirping sounds 02 Disco, belt pulley, luck john

My 2002 disco II has recently started making a chirping sound when I accelerate.  I let off the gas and it stops.  Any ideas why?

Hi JoAnn,

sounds like a bearing from one of the pulleys.  Could be tensioner belt pulley.  Have a local garage open hood and take a listen for you or you can try this yourself.  Careful - the serpentine belt can be dangerous with the engine running.

Not very expensive to repair and IF the cause IS a pulley, make sure you replace it with the identical size.
