1996 Land Rover Discovery SD
My passenger side window only goes down 2 inches and goes up right away. It gets stuck at the same certain point each time.  

Also my rear windows both stopped working at the same time.

Hi Joe,

common problem for series I Disco's.  Usually the switch, motor, window guides, security ECU and electrical wiring are involved in this problem.

One owner rewired his windows so that the switches worked from the battery (source).  Somehow, the electrical harnesses became corroded (lots of water leaks).  

If you can find an auto electrician, you could try having them test out the window motors to see if they work.  If so, then have him rewire them.  IF not, you can either buy new motors from the dealer$ or you can try your luck with salvaged parts.  www.car-part.com
