Land Rover Repair: 1.8 freelander engine stalling, stepper motor, series cylinder

hi john - 1.8 petrol o series - cylinder head blown 2x - just fixed again but when car comes to a halt the engine cuts out - runs perfect when re started - any advise very much welcome - best regards - carl green

Hi Carl,

just a guess here, but could it be that the wiring to the IAC stepper motor is shorting out?  With two blown cyl.heads, maybe this has happened.  

Here's a TSB that I remember from a while back.  It describes the problem and perhaps part of it is something you can investigate.
