QuestionDennis: the other pro's are maxed out. This is probably not an air suspension question, but why not try it...for the challenge? When I start my 60,000 mile, 2004 Range Rover, often when it's cold or has been sitting awhile, I hear a loud "clack clack clack clack" for about 2-3 seconds. The sound then disappears.
Something isn't getting oil-- for a moment. The dealer was reluctant to do anything "it'll stop in a minute." But a $70,000 vehicle shouldn't sound like a lawn mower when it starts. Is this serious?Anything I should do about it?
Now about the air suspension: no problems. Thanks. Ron
AnswerI'm glad the air is still working, keep me in mind when (not if...) it gives you problems.
That sounds like possibly a lifter not pumping up quick enough, an oil change with an "oil flush" from Lucas oil first should cure that. Follow the directions on the bottle.
It could also be a loose rocker, or even a rod. Any good engine shop can help pinpoint it, if not fix it. Doesn't have to be the dealer. You may have to provide them with a workshop manual. -available online for download or free disk by searching "land rover rave CD or download"
