Land Rover Repair: 04 Disco M & S Flashing Light, limp home, flashing light

2004 Discovery.  M & S light sometime come on (flashing) while driving, resulting in slow speed. There has also been a slight jerk in the tranny.  After stopping and restarting the Disco, the light go out?

Hi Monte,

This is a warning that you are in "limp home" mode and that you should have the problem investigated quickly.
It could be as simple as a low battery or an electric fault somewhere on your vehicle, such as a failing sensor.  

One 2004 owner wrote that the auto selector sensor failed and generated this warning due to the air-conditioning drain that was dripping on the sensor.  

It's also possible that a component within the electronic transmission is at fault.

A LR dealer is the best resource for this and hopefully you are still under warranty.
