hi,the tc light will come on occaisionally with a strange noise.also when engine is switched off after driving i get a whirring noise for about 10 seconds.any ideas

Hi Paul,

the TC problem could be ABS or brake related.  That noise you hear may also be the ABS modulator.

Another possible cause for a whirring noise after a vehicle has been turned off (warm engine) could be a bearing failure for a cooling fan.

IF the TC light is on solid, you should have a LR dealer inspect your ABS system.  IF it flicks on under rough or bumpy conditions, that's usually normal.

The whirring noise is not normal and so you should try to find the cause.  Take a closer look the next time you have the chance. IS the noise coming from the front of the engine or from behind the engine?
