QuestionQUESTION: my vehicle is stuck on eas fault-35 mph max-and it has dropped and will not raise-this happened about a month and a half ago-the dealer got it to work again and clear codes-lately,if i leave a door open -i can get the compressor to fill up the reserve tank and get it to function properly, until now.How can i clear the codes and make it function again for a period? and i was also told i should consider the coil conversion kit installed for $1,600, should i do the conversion and how to clear codes? any suggestions and answers are appreciated-thank you-chris/bay area,ca.
ANSWER: Hi Chris, you need to actually repair the problem, not just clear the codes. Your dealer did you as dis-service by resetting the codes and sending you on your way. I would guess you have leaky springs and a worn out compressor because of the leaks. A full overhaul kit runs about $600, and replaces EVERY consumable part in the EAS system.
I never recommend castrating a Range Rover, repair is always an option. To clear codes you need to plug into a LR specific diagnostic computer, doesn't have to be the dealer.
If you do go with the coil kit, you can stop the dash beeping messages with 2 pieces of wire.

AnswerHi Chris,
Sorry for the slow response, you can find me at
www.rover-renovations.com
go to the "overhaul kits" page and chose which springs you prefer. We also have a listing of independent shops that we recommend to install our kits. If you have any specific questions you can email through the website.
Thank you,
