Land Rover Repair: 3.9 to 4.0, head gasket, dive gear

Hi,

 I have a 1995 Discovery with a 3.9 engine. It lost a head gasket, cracked a head. I found a nice 4.0 from a 96 Disco.
I am putting the 3.9 injection and rimming cover on, so I can use the 3.9 distributor. My question is: Can you install the 3.9 cam and distributor dive gear in the 4.0.
I realize that there are issues with internal to external balancing. I believe I have that worked out. The cam is my real question.
