Land Rover Repair: Overheating Range Rover 4.6, labour charges, thermostat

My 2000 range rover 4.6 hse has been overheating and spitting up hot water from the radiator resivoir.  I think it has to do with the thermostat... What is the cost of this type of repair...

Hi Adrian,

thermostat canister for a RR 4.6 is about $60 at Atlantic British - much higher if bought at dealership.  

Install would be 1 to 2 hours of labour, depending on ease of removing old thermostat canister and if no damage is found.

Could be around $300 IF it's just a thermostat.  The part is inexpensive, it's the labour charges that can be expensive.
