Land Rover Repair: Gearbox Fault, land rover service, cold cranking amps
QuestionI bought a 1999 Range Rover and I drove it for a couple of months and then send it over seas, it was driving very smoothly, It spent 2 months sailing, when it reached its destination, they report that there is a gear box fault and the car will only go reverse. there is no land Rover service or scanner there. can you help me?
AnswerA random "gearbox fault" message is often an indicator of a weak battery, especially after spending 2 months idle. Replace the battery with the right one from Interstate (If you can find an interstate there) and that should cure it.
If there isn't an interstate, any battery with the right specs will work,
