Land Rover Repair: compressor clutch, compressor clutch, compressor unit

I own a 99 Disco 1 and I have a high pitched noise coming from my A/C compressor.  I would guess that the bearings have gone bad or something.  I was wondering are there bearings in the pulley/clutch and if so can you just replace it instead of the whole compressor unit

I very seldom see a compressor clutch do that.  The idler bearing below it is probably bad.  Take the belt off and spin the various pulleys by hand and I think you'll find it's not the AC compressor at all.
