Land Rover Repair: manual/ sport mode light flashing sometimes, land rover specialist, transmission controls

Question
I just bought the vehicle this weekend.  Some times when I turn the car on the manual and sport mode lights will both blink non stop, as well as the light next to D on the shifter, and the D (for drive) on the dashboard.  The car has no power when this is happening.  Once I turn the car off and hit the mode button then the problem stops. One time the brake, abs , TC and hill descent light would not turn off until I turned the car off.

There is a good chance those lights are flashing because your battery is old or weak.  Have it tested.

If the batttery is good you may have a problem with the electronic transmission controls.  You'll need a dealer or Land Rover specialist to check that out.  They need to use a special LR test system - Autologic or T4 - to talk to the car's electronics.
