hi - i started my car and the s and m lights started blinking - can you tell me what this normally indicates?

Answer
If the two lights are blinking that means one of two things:

1) Your battery is old and weak, and the voltage dropped too low for the transmission controller to work

2) There is a problem with your electronic transmission control that will have to be read by a dealer or shop with an Autologic or T4/dealer test system.
