QuestionI have a 2001 LR Disco Series II SE, 76K miles. We dropped $1,300 on repairing breaks at the dealer 2 yrs ago, and now they say we need them replaced (front and back) again, $1,600. (We don't do any heavy-duty driving, but average $10K/yr, daily commute.)
Is this reasonable? Am I better off going to Midas or some place like that?
Thanks,
V.
AnswerIf you use genuine Land Rover parts the pieces (all 4 rotors, all 4 pads) will cost $750. $1,600 for a total price sounds high to me.
You might look on www.rangerovers.net to see if there are any good independent shops near you.
I would not recommend taking a Land Rover to a chain like Midas or Pep Boys.
