Question(1998 Land Rover Discovery 4.0 LE)
My rear sunroof is jammed and stuck in the open position and will not close. What is the problem and how can I fix it (myself if possible)?

DETAIL
The following symptoms may be caused by improper timing of sunroof motor:
1) Sunroof does not stop at the tilt position.
2) Sunroof opens partially then stops.
ACTION REQUIRED
Upon customer complaint of sunroof malfunction or incomplete operation due to incorrect sunroof motor timing, follow the procedure below.
PARTS INFORMATION
Not applicable.
PROCEDURE
1) Place sunroof into the tilt position. The sunroof is in tilt when the cam track is positioned as shown in illustration.
2) Remove motor from the sunroof assembly (refer to Workshop Manual 76.82.84/85).
3) Attach an ohmmeter to the micro switch leads on the motor (black and yellow wires). Using a 4 mm hex key, turn the motor shaft while observing the meter. Stop turning when the meter reads infinity (i.e. open circuit).
4) Refit motor to sunroof assembly (refer to Workshop Manual 76.82.84/85).
