Land Rover Repair: 96 DISCO SE7 MAF Low Ckt problem, mass air sensor, obd ii reader
QuestionHello John,
I have a '96 DISCO that has recently started having hesitation and rough idle problems after changing the air filter to a K&N. When I changed the filter I also cleaned the conetors to the MAF. I should mention that the Check Engine light came on a few weeks prior, but it also would turn off once in a while. I had been looking for a OBD II reader to buy, and finally purchased one, and the trouble code was a P0102.
I have checked the wires and found no sign of damage. Any other options besides a new MAF?
AnswerI have seen numerous problems with mass air sensors after switching to K&N type filters. As to "any other options" . . . I suggest you find a shop wiht well-trained people and a T4 or Autologic test system and have them check it out.
102 is a misfire code, which could come from a mass air sensor, bad plug, coil pack, or a number of other things.
You need to look at the live data from the motor and see what's awry.
