THE MILAGE ON MY 2002 DISC 2 SD WORKS FINE BUT CONTINUES TO FLASH WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF THIS AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS. THANKS

If the odometer display flashes it means there is a discrepancy between the mileage displayed and the mileage readings stored in the truck's computers.

Usually this results from tampering but it can result from computer failure.  If you just bought the truck I'd strongly suggest tampering and I would find a shop with an Autologic that could read the stored mileaged from the other computers.
