Land Rover Repair: starter, kick plate, door weatherstrip seals

I HAVE A 97 DISCO V8 ,CAN I REPLACED A STARTER WITH OUT GOING TO A REPAIR SHOP ,AND HOW LONG AND IS IT A MAJOR WORK.I LOOKED AT THE STARTER BOTTOM BOLT IS EASY BUT TOP BOLT LOOKS HARD. ANY ADVICE AS TO HOW TO TAKE THAT BOLT OUT . **** NEXT PROBLEM , WATER IN FRONT PASS BOTTOM KICK PLATE . ANY IDEAR. THANKS ALIE .
AnswerIt takes a skilled technician 1.5-2 hours to change the starter on a lift. Can you do it? I don't know . . . I don't know your skill level. There is nothing really tricky about it.
Water on the floor is usually from a windshield leak. If by "kick plate" you mean a door seal you may have a problem with the door weatherstrip seals. Check that first.
