Land Rover Repair: Electrical problem, independent shops, electrical problem
QuestionI have a 1998 Landrover Range rover and My brakes and Air conditioner stopped working. The brakes will only engage if they are placed all the way down. I am sure it is an electrical problem that could be solved with just some simple reprogramming but I do not want to take it to the dealership due to the price. I know that these 2 problems are linked to the same electrical issue. Please contact me back as soon as you can... Thank you.........
AnswerWhile I sympathize with your desire to avoid high costs at the dealer, your brakes and air conditioning can only be tested with one of the specialist Land Rover test systems. These $10,000 machines are found at all dealers and a few independent shops.
Just as an aside . . . I assume you've checked your fuses and they are good, right?
You might look on www.rangerovers.net for a list of shops near you. You need a shop with T4, Autologic, or Rovacomm test gear to diagnose your problem.
