Land Rover Repair: air in diesel fuel line, fuel line, land rovers

Hi John, Concerns a 1980 RR with fitted with a York 6 cyl diesel. Runs for a short time then stops. Been told by someone that air is getting in the fuel line. First time with land rovers, I love this RR and want to get it back on the road. Where do I start, what do you recommend. many thanks, Paul.
