QuestionI have a few issues with my LR. First it sounds like a waterfall in my dash on the passanger side.We can't figure out where the water is pooling. My ABS, TC, and hill decent lights are all on the dash, I was told it would cost me over $300 to relace a wheel sensor. I have 97,000 mile in it, the driverside & passanger side front doors only open, all the rest only open from the inside. I have had my LR for over a year, and it seems that if I fix one thing, something more has to break. My rear sun roof just stoped working.and my driverside seat heater, will heat up but will burn. I think I need Help! AND THAT IS NOT All OF THE PROBLEMS
AnswerHi Marissa,
welcome to the wonderful world of owning a british motor car. GAG.
The water you hear in your dash is coolant. You'll need to have this repaired by a LR dealer. Few general mechanics have the knowledge to do this work.
The 'three amigo' lights, ABS, TC and HDC, are "guests" that never leave! If your dealer is saying its a wheel sensor...get this in writing and make sure they garantee this. Maybe you can get your money back when the lights reappear a few days after their repair. It could be just a wheel sensor...but it usually turns out to be the modulator (expensive to replace).
As for the rear doors...very common problem. It could be a simple adjustment to the door latch rod. If you are willing, I can send you the instructions to do this adjustment. Its also possible that the door latch and locks are dirty and need to be lubricated generously. Use white lithium and a toothbrush to fully clean the latch area. Spray up inside and watch the gunk come out. Wipe away with a rag.
As for sunroof, it could simply be off-track. I don't think its an expensive repair if that's all there is to it.
The seat heater is different. Sounds like you may have to replace that. Consider finding a salvaged part on www.car-part.com. Salvaged parts can save you big $$$$.
Best of luck,

NB: you're not alone. Most of us LR owners are facing these annoying problems. Have courage ... find a good mechanic and try to smile, even though your wallet is sobbing. john.
