Lexus Repair: Lexus 1997 ES 300 engine repair, lexus dealer, dead battery
QuestionLexus 1997 ES 300 Lexus dealer told me that when I charged my battery I had blown the main fuse. I towed my car to the Lexus dealer on June 15th. They told me that I did not have compression in 1-6 and 2-4 cylinders and that I must have bent the valves. My Car has had every oil change and all regular maint. recomended by Lexus done at there dealership. I have 96000 miles on my car, my friend has the same car and has put 340000 miles on his. The timing belt was replaced at 92000. They want to put a new engine in the car for $10,000 What has happened to my car engine? Who is responsable? What should I do? Thank You! Jerry
AnswerHello, The question would be how did it get from a dead battery to the valves are bent? They need to tell you how and or why the valves got bent. The timing belt keeps that from happening. If there is a problem with the timing belt or something related to that then I would say it should be on them. The first thing that needs to be done is for them to tell you why.
