-----Question-----
I have a bad regulator as I C it, motor runs ok but window stays down. upon inspection of unit I C the regulator jumping up & down and skipping around in there but no lift or drop etc. what a mess trying to get to this stuff in that Lincoln . very tight quarters there. I have located the replacement unit on line at a cost of apx. 50.00 Includes everything except the mtr. Question is what is correct procedure for replacement & are them little things a rivet whats holding it in place or are they some kind of a screw. looks like one would have to use a ctr, punch knock them out and replace them with quarter inch bolts etc. have you done one of these Lincolns before or do you know of a site I might go what would have the procedure in steps etc.
-----Answer-----
No Ril, that is exactly what you need to do. They are riveted at the factory for some God only knows reason, but you need to pop them off and replace them with nuts and bolts.
AnswerHi Ril,
I really don't know of a site that has a step by step for this. It's the type of repair that you just get in there and do it. Being a transmission guy and managing a transmission shop, I don't get many window deals, though actually, I have one here now. I will resubmit to you after I look at this Ford F150 and tell you what I saw. Give me a couple hours to get to it...
