Mazda Repair: Engine oil change., mazda 2, engine efficiency
QuestionHello,
I'm from Europe. I bought a new Mazda 2 three mnths ago. Online I read that Mazda requires change of engine oil every 7500 miles. On my manual instructions there is nothing that specifies it. My dealer said every year is enough for Mazda. A good mechanic I know said that every 8 months and not more if I want engine efficiency to keep on running.
I ask, does the make of the car makes any difference of when you should change it? And is it according to the mileage or according to time (example yearly)?
Thank you!
Answeroil change depends on a number of factors time, milage, conditions you drive and how the vehicle is used.
if your using regular oil like 5w30 or 10w30 it's every 5000km or 3 months whatever comes first
for synthetic oils it's every 8000km or 5 months whatever comes first
oil changes are not vehicle specific there oil specific.
always change oil filter when changing oil.
best of luck
