how many quarts of transmission fluid if tranny is dry

Answer
for the auto tranny use mercon III calls for 6qts for 4 cylinder and 7.2qts for a V6

manual is 2.9 qts of 75W/90 gear oil

slow add bit by bit checking alot so you don't over fill it i'd start with a quart at a time and work slowly when i got closer to the full line
