Mazda Repair: alarm disconnect mazda 323GLX, mazda system, centrol
QuestionHi
we have recently lost our car key and the centrol calarm. We got a new set of key from the locksmith. However, when we start the engine, it trigers the alarm. How can we switch it off manually? or any way to get around it.Our car model is MAZDA 323GLX.
Thank you veru much for your help.
AnswerThe alarm is not likely a Mazda system, meaning it was not installed by Mazda nor is it a Mazda "brand" alarm. If it was let me know.
Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal, depress the brake pedal for 10 seconds. Place the ignition key in the run position. Reconnect the battery terminal and see if the system resets itself. If the system is set for automatic arming then this will not solve your problem permanently. If it re-arms you will have to locate the alarm "brain" and remove it from the car. Installers commonly put the "brain" under the dash near the steering column.
