Mazda Repair: 2000 mazda 626 hub bearing, 2000 mazda 626, mazda 626

The car is "humming"-it started this about two weeks ago.  I had the cvj's replaced yesterday, and the tires rotated, and mentioned the humming noise to the shop.  They told me it was a hub bearing.  I've read other posts, and it appears this is a "shop" job.  I'm curious as to:  1) How long does it take to fix this sort of thing?  2) Is it to risky to drive for twelve hours (straight from Charleston, SC to Key West)  on a humming bearing, or do I need to fix this before I go?

hub bearing would be the rear, sounds like your talking about the front wheel bearing, yes you need a press to remove the bearing. we get 1.5 hrs to replace each side. i cant say it's ok to drive cause i dont know how loud it is, seems they just get louder if not fixed, they can sieze up
