Mazda Repair: Mazda timing belt replacement, timing belt replacement, timming belt
QuestionHi John,
I bought 2001 Mazda 626 having 102400 miles on it. According to manufacturer timing belt should be changed at 105000 miles. I am just wondering whether I need to do it now or shall I wait till it comes to 105000 miles. Also as I don't have idea about the cost needed in replacement at some professional. Please tell me what should I do in this case & approximate price for replaceing timming belt?
AnswerChange it now, have all the tensioner and idlers replaced as well as the water pump. This should cost between $400 and $600 at a qualified shop assuming they will replace all the accessory belts as well and perform a tune up.
Regards,
John
