Mercedes Benz repair: Mercedes 190e 2.6, mercedes 190e, tow hook

How do you remove the auxilliary fans on the Mercedes 190e 2.6. I have one that is not working. They seem to be connected together.If they could be seperated they might come right out.  There is a vertical cross member in the middle that looks solid on the top as it curves back under the metal over the radiator. At the bottom there is a bolt but the bumper is in the way. This cross member appears to be a solid round length of bar that flattens out at the bottom where the bolt is. Thank you

you are right they are connected as far as taking off the fan I think it may be connected to the radiator..let me check on my 190 though I have a 2.3 there is a tow hook cover that yopu can take off to get to the bottom bolt with a wrench looks to be a 12mm I would probably pb blast it then wait a little mine pretty rusty. also note the 2.3 has only one fan
