i have a mercedes benz 1975 230 4 cylinder , timing is set,compression is good,starts every time , don't smoke any , the car takes off very slow and seems like u can only get 20 to 30 mph top speed , but if u go on a long road it seems to pick up better speed , is this normal for this old car ,or can u tell me whats wrong ? and the carb is new ,maybe its a low gear tranny ?and if you push the gas  there is no difference , but if u just rest foot on the gas it seems to go better , the car don't back fire or anything ,

If the ignition coil came with the car, replace it, the spark will be too weak.
