Mercedes Benz repair: Cant remove window motor assembly! `79 300sd, mercedes benz 300sd, number search results

Just purchased a 1979 300SD with a few warts here and there, and I'm trying to get her back into shape.  I have resonably good mechanical skills but I can't figure out how to get the drivers window motor assembly out of the door so I can do repairs.  The motor works great... but I can see that the gears are not meshing.  I found a broken nylon washer in the bottom of the door and the drive gear looks a little kittywampus.  Easy fix if I could get the assy out of the door.  Any words of advice?  Thanks a bunch.  "Dakota Joe"

#1. Use Duct tape to support the window glass.
#2. Dismount the motor/regulator assembly from the door frame, three 10 MM bolts.
#3. Dismount the motor from the regulator, three 10 MM bolts.
#4. Run the regulator out of the glass slide.
