Mercedes Benz repair: Engine, vacuum pump, vacuum system

1983,300SD, 520,000+,Dallas, Texas
102 out side today, hot enought that when I turned the key off the engine kept running, quess that is the reason for the cut-off tab..what do I need to replace to keep this from happening?
