Mercedes Benz repair: 1981 380sl, salvage yard, 380sl

Backed the car out of the garage and the left front end dropped down  on the wheel. I looked at the problem seems that the bolt came off that holds  the Supporting joint. Can I slip this back in and bolt it if so what size bolt does it take.

Yes; you can put it back together.
The danger is that you must have the special tempered bolt that belongs there.
You can get one from your local MB dealer or a salvage yard with an 1981 R107.045 116.960 V8 380SL.

There are no other options.

If you must move it around the yard = at low speed (under 10 MPH) you can hold it together with any bolt that will fit the hole = DANGER: NOT SAFE FOR THE ROAD.
